Launch week sets records for Worldcoin community, World ID sign-ups

Following the Worldcoin project’s launch out of beta, new data is highlighting both the growth of the Worldcoin community, steered by the Worldcoin Foundation, and the extent of the global demand for World ID, a privacy preserving identity protocol that enables people to digitally prove their uniqueness and humanness online.

Weekly global World ID verifications more than doubled in the seven days following launch as additional Orbs were rolled out around the world. What’s noteworthy here is that the rate of World ID verifications had already doubled once in 2023. Between January and July, World ID sign-ups went from one million to two million in less than half the time it took to reach the first million. Last week's 2X growth in weekly World ID sign-ups demonstrates a sustained increase in global demand for World ID as a standalone product.

Beyond the increase in verified World ID holders, Tools for Humanity’s World App, the first wallet built for the Worldcoin network, also saw a surge of global activity following the network’s launch. There was a 3X increase in weekly active World App users and a more than 10X increase in weekly account creations in the seven days following launch.
