In high-tech Korea, new survey shows importance of proof of humanness, World ID
Results from a new Tools For Humanity (TFH) survey of World ID holders in Korea show overwhelming support for the Worldcoin project and proof of humanness.
Of the 1,100+ respondents, more than 9 in 10 agreed that technology that differentiates between humans and bots online, like World ID, is necessary. Additionally, 84% of respondents agreed that Korea should become a global hub for these kinds of innovations, demonstrating high expectations for the country in the age of AI.
Such findings reinforce the important role that emerging technologies such as blockchain play in Korea, which was ranked the most technologically advanced country in the world in 2023 by Global Finance.
According to the same TFH survey, 86% of respondents already feel comfortable using biometric technologies for banking, medical services and device logins. In addition, 85% stated that Worldcoin can help create a safer, more secure internet and 88% agreed that Worldcoin technology would have a positive impact on their digital interactions.
Worldcoin growth hits new milestone in Asia
The results of the Korea World ID-holder survey come as Worldcoin has achieved a new milestone in Asia, partnering with the applied research and development arm of the Malaysian government to bring digital proof of humanness to the country.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which was signed by MIMOS Berhad, the Worldcoin Foundation, TFH, and leading e-government services provider MyEG, is intended to:
- Integrate Worldcoin technology into the country’s digital infrastructure
- Give individuals access to humanness verification
- Potentially collaborate on joint orb manufacturing
- Potentially bridge World Chain to Malaysia’s National Blockchain Infrastructure
