AI is making it harder to distinguish humans from bots online. Worldcoin’s digital identity (World ID) is a novel internet passport that allows individuals to certify online that they are human and unique without revealing who they are.
WorldID offers a secure method to provide “proof of humanness” while letting people maintain control and privacy over their data.
Worldcoin doesn't need to know who you are, just that you are unique human.

Highlights:
- Through Personal Custody, all images used to verify an individual's World ID are deleted by default.
- Privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs), including encryption and cryptographic mechanisms of SMPC and ZKPs, are in place to protect user data both in transit and at rest.
- The ability to unverify World ID via permanent iris code deletion gives World ID holders more personal control over their data.
